Solar Energy: the cancer-reducing gold rush

New Mexico is filled with a lot of sun and a lot of land.  What would be in the best interest of its citizens is to pass laws that allow flexibility when it comes to off-grid living and, you guessed it, solar energy.  The next gold rush is upon us and if we are smart we will embrace it and revitalize our state and the state it’s in.   Let’s say “screw the oil companies” and invest solely in solar technology.  This will help the planet overall by:

Ridding the Duke City and others of smug, thus reducing cancer and other ailments.

Ceasing the war on oil overseas and reducing the cost and demond for oil in general.

Putting more money in the pockets of the 99%.  Less money spent on energy bills and gas equals more money they’ll be able to put towards education, healthcare costs, other bills, or other markets in the economy.

Helping to slow (and hopefully stop) global warming.  Shall we go through all of the wonderous effects this would have on the planet?

Solar technology is the new gold rush.  It can replace and even create hundreds of thousands of new jobs and ventures, but it can only happen when every state makes the big move.  For now we are hindered by our reliance on oil, but eventually we will either be forced to make a change or we will suffer the concequences of our refusal to change.  Spread the word!  We cannot sacrifice our planet and our lives just because we love the history of the oil industry and how it has helped America boom.  The oil industry is an old,  slowly dying dinosaur, and soon will become ancient like the fossil fuels it is taken from.  The time has come for us to make a positive impact on our planet, to improve, and to let outdated technology go to bed.  Wake up to the sun!  The solar age is upon us and we should embrace it.

Large number of businesses along ABQ’s central corridor disapprove of A.R.T plan– law suits filed.

ART-2-8-web

Businesses on Albuquerque’s central corridor thrive off of passing automobiles and the customers they bring.   Many locals say that reducing the number of lanes on central and replacing one with a dedicated rapid transit system, replaces consumers passing in their car  with others who will remain on the bus for their commute to/from work and school.  Nob Hill specifically has been known to attract people who drive from all over the city to visit its eclectic and eccentric shops, bars, and restaurants.   Unfortunately, A.R.T isn’t connected to Rio Rancho or any other part of the city and these people come from affluent cities all over the state to spend their money, and they travel by automobile.  A.R.T would destroy this market, as the majority of its users would be students and people trying to get out of the sun.  A.R.T could spell a disaster for the central corridor– it is not a real light rail system, and it does not go under intersections at major crossroads.  This could have a devastating effect of local businesses, so who would be responsible?   With so many businesses in disagreement, the city seems to be carrying on with a blind eye, almost disregarding the will of the people, its seems as if the powers that be are more interested in their lofty egos than in what the people are saying. If A.R.T was a real train, kind of like the one on Tingley but better, went under the streets and connected Rio Rancho to the central corridor then it would be great! But that’s not the plan and for $80 million dollars is it worth it or is it a sham?$80 million dollars to run a bulldozer down central and create a middle lane and then put a bus on it and call it rapid transit? I could bulldoze central with a Bull-Dozer for a million, paint strips on it for another million and buy 6 busses for 3 million, where’s all this money going? What officials and what private companies are involved in this project and whose hands are in whose pockets? This sounds like another New Mexico take money from the people sham and the only other problem here is the businesses will feel the pain when they take out those lanes, sorry to say, but doesn’t seem like A.R.T is good for the Duke City , either is whoever came up with this idea.

New non-profit organization seeks to be the voice of New Mexico

voiceofnewmexico

The Voice Of New Mexico, a new non-profit organization, has a vision of looking out for the people of the Enchanted State, keeping their best interests in minds, and even going so far as to putting money back into their pockets.  Too often do we pay taxes that are distributed unfairly and unethically, and it is about time to start making things happen for the other 99% of the people and no longer for the rich and powerful.  Our goal is to represent everyone through a fundraising that realigns our priorities and creates projects that benefit the people who need it the most.  We must rally our voices collectively so that we have the power again.  This power will fuel the city, feed the hungry, and reestablish our economy.  We believe through this organization that we can put money back in the pockets of the 99%, fight political corruption, and fight the exploitation of our people.  It is time to redraw the lines between the poor, the rich, and the disappearing middle class. This organization is dedicated to the people of New Mexico.  This is our state.  Our voices will be heard!

City Counselor Klarissa Pena talks about A.R.T and her vision for District 3:

City Counselor Klarissa Pena is one of the Duke City’s best public officials.  Amidst the controversy of the Albuquerque Rapid Transit project, which many citizens disagree with, she was one of two city counselors who chose to represent the people and voted NO on A.R.T.  She saw through the plans that will essentially and negatively affect local business owners, especially along Central Avenue and our historic and beloved Nob Hill district, and voted NO.  The Duke City Times has endorsed Klarissa Pena and ask that you give her your support in the coming election as she is a true voice for the people of our great city.

Duke City Times publisher speaks on Trump protest in an interview with radio show and news website INFOWARS:

While at the “No Trump In America” rally, an organized protest during Donald Trump’s visit to New Mexico, Duke City Times publisher Stephen Judy was interviewed by a reporter for Alex Jones’ radio show and news website INFOWARS.  Judy spoke about the gross injustices that are happening in American politics and how they affect our community and the rest of the country.  Much of our aggression has been focused on Trump mainly because of his unending racial comments and his mannerism similar to those part of an oligarchy.  When the video was published, Judy was surprised to see himself labeled as a “Local Socialist Reporter” and has since then stated that it doesn’t bother him but he would like to make it known that he does not consider himself as such.  Instead he views himself as an independent reporter that truly cares about the overall well being of the American people and what is in the overall best interests for the people in his hometown of Albuquerque.

In his statement to Duke City Times reporter Josh Foster he commented, “It’s funny they labeled me like that.  Maybe it was just the environment, the context that I was reporting on, and the rioting… I wanted to make known the injustices being done.  I wish that the reporter would change the title, but all in all it doesn’t matter.  I know who I am, I fight to be the voice of my people and they know that…that’s all that matters.”

Thousands Protest Donald Trump Rally at Albuquerque Convention Center:

The people of The Duke City express their disapproval of Trump in mass protest.

Thousands show up to the Albuquerque Convention Center to protest Donald Trump’s visit to New Mexico.

Out of all the presidential rallies in New Mexico, this one in particular seemed to attract the most.  Why? So many of our citizens disagree with Trump.  People were chanting “no hate in our state” amidst other clever things.  It seemed there were more people against Trump outside than there were entering the convention center to see him.  Many of those interviewed felt Trump was racist and heartless. What is your opinion?

China’s Claim to the Spratly Islands–Unjustified?

China has been stemming much controversy as of late through the claiming of the Spratly Islands and the building of military bases on their land.  The islands are very far from the Chinese mainland and much closer to Vietnam and the Philippines–two others laying claim to the islands.  It seems in this instance that China has gone too far in claiming these islands and is just trying to expand its territory in a way that will dominate Southeast Asia.  As the Spratly Islands are very far from the Chinese mainland, are UN and Nato treaties to block china justified?

Bernie Sanders visits Albuquerque– huge response with thousands of supporters at the convention center.

When Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders came to Albuquerque last night, thousands of people flocked to the rally.  Considered by many as one of the most humble American politicians in America since the civil rights movement, Bernie Sanders has no problem appealing to the people.  Sanders is even considered to be in the same realm of character as Washington or Kennedy with a message that addresses the problems of America and the .01% billionaire class that rule it today.  Thousands in the The Duke City continue to show their love and support of Sanders.

Fixing our Justice System:Attorney,Decorated APD Police Officer and Local Citizen Vow’s To Bring Leadership and balance To The Bernalillo County District Attorneys Office.

Edmund “Ed” Perea Knows the Streets Of Albuquerque,As a Gang task force officer,Unit Supervisor,Graduate of The FBI national Academy and assistant Prosecutor for the 13th Judicial District,if anyone know how to reduce crime and bring balance to the DA’s Office,Its Ed Perea. Bernalillo County needs a well rounded District Attorney that can honorably bridge the gap between the scandal ridden Albuquerque Police Department and a questionable District attorney’s office;Ed Perea is that man.

Ed Perea is a former APD officer, that has worked  as a Unit supervisor as well as a member of the hardened APD Gang Task-force,Not only has he risen from the ranks But he is also an attorney and someone who knows the city well, not just another pencil pusher in a suit. The challenge for Mr.Perea will be if he can make Un-biased decisions regarding  the public, the DA’s Office, and the Albuquerque Police Department. If He is successful,Albuquerque Has the Best Candidate for the Office.A candidate that knows the streets, the Law, and the issues that challenge our community.

Right now the City is at war, crime is high so is corruption, families are caught in the middle, leaving them embittered at police doing there job, people breaking the law,and corruption fueling a viscous cycle; It would take a special person to break this cycle and bring organization to the county.

The Duke City Times is proud of being the Voice of the People. We only select The very Best.We feel that if Ed Perea can overcome the political infighting between APD and the DA’s Office, and Bring in balance, leadership and stability, then he is by far the best candidate for the Job and would do wonders for our Beloved Duke City, therefore, we gladly Endorse Mr.Perea As our Next Bernalillo County District Attorney and wish him all the best in his campaign!

“Ed Perea is the only  candidate the can bring true Leadership and Balance Between APD and the District Attorney’s office, thus unifying the agencies and make our community safer. ”

“Fake Rapid Transit” System will Hurt Albuquerque’s Central Corridor

The proposed “Rapid transit” plan for Albuquerques Central Corridor is a complete Joke and could hurt the Cities economy even more,Here’s Why:

1.Its not a real light rail or mono rail system,It’s just a bus with covered wheels,it doesn’t even go under intersections so it will stop at every street just like a regular bus.

2.who’s doing the landscaping ,construction,i’ll bet you its family or friends of local politicians.

3. The central corridor thrives off of automobile traffic,I could see how the plan would work it there was another light rail train connecting Rio rancho and central, but just central alone will actually hurt businesses by reducing customer automobile traffic.

The “fake light rail” plan is just another scheme for city politicians to milk the people, its not a real light rail,it doesn’t doesn’t direct customers from other areas to the central corridor and its not a good plan,if it connected urban neighborhoods better and was a real light rail yes,and if we could have the people build it not the families of politicians yes,but as it stand now,NO! It will hurt business mark my words, and then they’ll change it again to hurt your business and steal from the people again, vote NO on “Fake light rail”!
