Trump’s unending controversial statements has caused his campaign to fall further in the polls. Many Republicans have called for Trump to change his tune, but not only hasn’t he changed, he has even gone so far as opting to fire and replace his top advisers. Some say nothing will change unless Trump’s colorful and bombastic way of irritating people ceases, which does not seem likely. If he doesn’t start marching to the beat of a different drum, he may just force the majority of Americans people to vote him out of the race come November.
When Gov. Richardson passed a law that grants tax breaks for Film Production companies to film in New Mexico, the movie industry flocked to New Mexico and still continues to do so! Now let’s do the same for businesses and industrial manufacturing. If we passed a law that removes taxes for new businesses and factories linked in Wyoming and Nevada, New Mexico would boom with opportunities. Job employment would go through the roof and we could start moving away from being one of the poorest states economically to becoming an oasis of opportunity. Our leadership has failed us and it’s time that we start petitioning and voting to pass laws which will attract new businesses instead of just watching as the state lags behind. We need to make dramatic changes and this is the first step towards creating many more higher paying jobs. Help fight to eliminate the corporate and industrial tax!
With New Mexico’s history, wouldn’t it be appropriate if the city built A.R.T with city workers? Potentially, it could save a little bit of taxpayer money that way… check out the breakdown via the link below:
Many of us are not so sure. While we don’t want another corrupt politician in office, Trump seems to be taking notes straight out of Hitler’s playbook. “Let’s make Germany great again…let’s rebuild our industry… no Jews!” Hitler was vicious in attacking any opposition, as is Trump. It seems all politicians are crooked, and here is the truth on the matter– Clinton would certainly carry out the status quo of the .01% ruling America by sending jobs overseas and essentially oppressing and exploiting the American people by allowing no chance for upward mobility. If push came to shove, at least she would also have Bill for some stability and our hopes would then be that we’d simply carry on for the next 4-8 years. With Trump? Yes, the country could become stronger economically and yes, a lot of great things could happen, but racism would explode furthermore. According to the Washington Post and other outlets, Trump is a racist, the vast majority of the .01% is racist, and to sum up this election we can either continue the status quo of corporate corruption or throw a racist slant on it… but is there a lesser of two evils? They are both terrible candidates and some are wondering if maybe we shouldn’t even vote. Who knows, maybe this is all a joke and something good will happen and Johnson or Sanders come back to the table. Until then, start taking yoga and meditation because you’re gonna need it.

With a sound resembling a mixture of Radiohead and The Clash, Alien Space Kitchen is rocking the locals of New Mexico. Be prepared, these three are good. With Noelle on drums, T. Messal aka “Mess” on bass, and Dru on guitar you will be rocked. The band’s bio states they started as a duo when songwriter Dru Vaughter recruited Noelle to play drums and assist with vocals on a new recording project. The result was their award-winning debut album “Just A.S.K.” Although the original two were happy with their progress, what they truly desired was a power-trio configuration. They believed that with the addition of bass, the songs could bask in their full garage-rock glory. In 2013 good fortune shone upon A.S.K. when L.A. legend Messal came out of retirement to join the band. Mess has toured the world with critically acclaimed bands Flies on Fire, VOMF, and Vitamade. When asked why he decided to get back in the game, most often he says it is because of the music. Other times he says it was something in the water. The rest of the band doesn’t care why, they’re just glad he did.
The band member’s influences include X, The 13th Floor Elevators, The Music Machine, WITCH, The Replacements, Kid Congo, Ohio Players, and The Kinks, to name a few. The band is also influenced by outer space… here’s what may or may not be true about the individual members and alien abductions: Dru may have been abducted but has no recollections; Noelle has never been abducted and knows just why; Mess claims that he has been an abductee and has abducted a few himself. The triangulation of these differing experiences translates in musical terms like a time-bomb of the future. Check it out or check yourself in.

27 year old Allen Hrynick is no stranger to video production. In fact, with drone technology and a wide variety of cameras, he’s pushing the norm for the New Mexico film community. With so much open space and the standard need for high level shots in film, new drone technology is very useful…and Allen is a pro. He not only uses drones to film movies, he also works on other projects such as music videos and webisodes. And if that doesn’t keep him busy enough, he is a writer and editor as well. If you are looking for any type of production work give Allen a call. You can learn more about him and PVF by contacting:

New Mexico is filled with a lot of sun and a lot of land. What would be in the best interest of its citizens is to pass laws that allow flexibility when it comes to off-grid living and, you guessed it, solar energy. The next gold rush is upon us and if we are smart we will embrace it and revitalize our state and the state it’s in. Let’s say “screw the oil companies” and invest solely in solar technology. This will help the planet overall by:
Ridding the Duke City and others of smug, thus reducing cancer and other ailments.
Ceasing the war on oil overseas and reducing the cost and demond for oil in general.
Putting more money in the pockets of the 99%. Less money spent on energy bills and gas equals more money they’ll be able to put towards education, healthcare costs, other bills, or other markets in the economy.
Helping to slow (and hopefully stop) global warming. Shall we go through all of the wonderous effects this would have on the planet?
Solar technology is the new gold rush. It can replace and even create hundreds of thousands of new jobs and ventures, but it can only happen when every state makes the big move. For now we are hindered by our reliance on oil, but eventually we will either be forced to make a change or we will suffer the concequences of our refusal to change. Spread the word! We cannot sacrifice our planet and our lives just because we love the history of the oil industry and how it has helped America boom. The oil industry is an old, slowly dying dinosaur, and soon will become ancient like the fossil fuels it is taken from. The time has come for us to make a positive impact on our planet, to improve, and to let outdated technology go to bed. Wake up to the sun! The solar age is upon us and we should embrace it.

The Voice Of New Mexico, a new non-profit organization, has a vision of looking out for the people of the Enchanted State, keeping their best interests in minds, and even going so far as to putting money back into their pockets. Too often do we pay taxes that are distributed unfairly and unethically, and it is about time to start making things happen for the other 99% of the people and no longer for the rich and powerful. Our goal is to represent everyone through a fundraising that realigns our priorities and creates projects that benefit the people who need it the most. We must rally our voices collectively so that we have the power again. This power will fuel the city, feed the hungry, and reestablish our economy. We believe through this organization that we can put money back in the pockets of the 99%, fight political corruption, and fight the exploitation of our people. It is time to redraw the lines between the poor, the rich, and the disappearing middle class. This organization is dedicated to the people of New Mexico. This is our state. Our voices will be heard!
City Counselor Klarissa Pena is one of the Duke City’s best public officials. Amidst the controversy of the Albuquerque Rapid Transit project, which many citizens disagree with, she was one of two city counselors who chose to represent the people and voted NO on A.R.T. She saw through the plans that will essentially and negatively affect local business owners, especially along Central Avenue and our historic and beloved Nob Hill district, and voted NO. The Duke City Times has endorsed Klarissa Pena and ask that you give her your support in the coming election as she is a true voice for the people of our great city.
How can Latinos can improve their political power in New Mexico? De la Cruz has some insight on the matter. He is the Country Commissioner for Bernalillo County, the most populated county in New Mexico. De La Cruz is well known and admired throughout the Duke City and is one of our favorite public officials.
While at the “No Trump In America” rally, an organized protest during Donald Trump’s visit to New Mexico, Duke City Times publisher Stephen Judy was interviewed by a reporter for Alex Jones’ radio show and news website INFOWARS. Judy spoke about the gross injustices that are happening in American politics and how they affect our community and the rest of the country. Much of our aggression has been focused on Trump mainly because of his unending racial comments and his mannerism similar to those part of an oligarchy. When the video was published, Judy was surprised to see himself labeled as a “Local Socialist Reporter” and has since then stated that it doesn’t bother him but he would like to make it known that he does not consider himself as such. Instead he views himself as an independent reporter that truly cares about the overall well being of the American people and what is in the overall best interests for the people in his hometown of Albuquerque.
In his statement to Duke City Times reporter Josh Foster he commented, “It’s funny they labeled me like that. Maybe it was just the environment, the context that I was reporting on, and the rioting… I wanted to make known the injustices being done. I wish that the reporter would change the title, but all in all it doesn’t matter. I know who I am, I fight to be the voice of my people and they know that…that’s all that matters.”
The people of The Duke City express their disapproval of Trump in mass protest.
Thousands show up to the Albuquerque Convention Center to protest Donald Trump’s visit to New Mexico.
Out of all the presidential rallies in New Mexico, this one in particular seemed to attract the most. Why? So many of our citizens disagree with Trump. People were chanting “no hate in our state” amidst other clever things. It seemed there were more people against Trump outside than there were entering the convention center to see him. Many of those interviewed felt Trump was racist and heartless. What is your opinion?
China has been stemming much controversy as of late through the claiming of the Spratly Islands and the building of military bases on their land. The islands are very far from the Chinese mainland and much closer to Vietnam and the Philippines–two others laying claim to the islands. It seems in this instance that China has gone too far in claiming these islands and is just trying to expand its territory in a way that will dominate Southeast Asia. As the Spratly Islands are very far from the Chinese mainland, are UN and Nato treaties to block china justified?
When Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders came to Albuquerque last night, thousands of people flocked to the rally. Considered by many as one of the most humble American politicians in America since the civil rights movement, Bernie Sanders has no problem appealing to the people. Sanders is even considered to be in the same realm of character as Washington or Kennedy with a message that addresses the problems of America and the .01% billionaire class that rule it today. Thousands in the The Duke City continue to show their love and support of Sanders.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today welcomed the announcement by the Colombian Government and a long-time opposition group Sunday of an agreement to separate and reintegrate children associated with the insurgent force.
Edmund “Ed” Perea Knows the Streets Of Albuquerque,As a Gang task force officer,Unit Supervisor,Graduate of The FBI national Academy and assistant Prosecutor for the 13th Judicial District,if anyone know how to reduce crime and bring balance to the DA’s Office,Its Ed Perea. Bernalillo County needs a well rounded District Attorney that can honorably bridge the gap between the scandal ridden Albuquerque Police Department and a questionable District attorney’s office;Ed Perea is that man.
Ed Perea is a former APD officer, that has worked as a Unit supervisor as well as a member of the hardened APD Gang Task-force,Not only has he risen from the ranks But he is also an attorney and someone who knows the city well, not just another pencil pusher in a suit. The challenge for Mr.Perea will be if he can make Un-biased decisions regarding the public, the DA’s Office, and the Albuquerque Police Department. If He is successful,Albuquerque Has the Best Candidate for the Office.A candidate that knows the streets, the Law, and the issues that challenge our community.
Right now the City is at war, crime is high so is corruption, families are caught in the middle, leaving them embittered at police doing there job, people breaking the law,and corruption fueling a viscous cycle; It would take a special person to break this cycle and bring organization to the county.
The Duke City Times is proud of being the Voice of the People. We only select The very Best.We feel that if Ed Perea can overcome the political infighting between APD and the DA’s Office, and Bring in balance, leadership and stability, then he is by far the best candidate for the Job and would do wonders for our Beloved Duke City, therefore, we gladly Endorse Mr.Perea As our Next Bernalillo County District Attorney and wish him all the best in his campaign!
“Ed Perea is the only candidate the can bring true Leadership and Balance Between APD and the District Attorney’s office, thus unifying the agencies and make our community safer. ”

The proposed “Rapid transit” plan for Albuquerques Central Corridor is a complete Joke and could hurt the Cities economy even more,Here’s Why:
1.Its not a real light rail or mono rail system,It’s just a bus with covered wheels,it doesn’t even go under intersections so it will stop at every street just like a regular bus.
2.who’s doing the landscaping ,construction,i’ll bet you its family or friends of local politicians.
3. The central corridor thrives off of automobile traffic,I could see how the plan would work it there was another light rail train connecting Rio rancho and central, but just central alone will actually hurt businesses by reducing customer automobile traffic.
The “fake light rail” plan is just another scheme for city politicians to milk the people, its not a real light rail,it doesn’t doesn’t direct customers from other areas to the central corridor and its not a good plan,if it connected urban neighborhoods better and was a real light rail yes,and if we could have the people build it not the families of politicians yes,but as it stand now,NO! It will hurt business mark my words, and then they’ll change it again to hurt your business and steal from the people again, vote NO on “Fake light rail”!
The proposed A.R.T rapid transit plan that would make central only one lane in both directions is a Joke! Instead of having a real light rail or monorail train system, the plan calls for a tacky bus with wheel covers. The plan is a good idea but unless we have a real light rail train or trolley going down central, the plan should be rejected.
New Mexico obtains one third of state revenues from oil and gas. With international instability and low oil prices the state is losing alot of money.Instead of pandering to the big oil industry that is quickly becoming obsolete, causes wars, and hurts the environment; New Mexico should embrace the solar industry! New Mexico is a technology hotspot, with 2 major national labs,a space port and 2 of the best engineering schools in the country,we also have great sunshine! It’s in the best interest of new Mexico to start embracing solar energy plantations, with massive solar energy programs and plants, well not only be able to reduce the energy bills of citizens and create thousands of jobs,we can create energy and sell it to other states all the while increasing our revenue and making New Mexico an even bigger technology powerhouse.Instead of waiting for oil prices to rise in a unstable industry, lets take our future in our own hands and go solar New Mexico!
