During the Donald Trump impeachment trial the managers from the United States Congress are submitting and requesting vital and relevant evidence to be presented to the public and to be heard regarding the impeachment of Donald Trump. The Senate, which seems to be biased against all things the congressional managers are requesting, is voting down anything and everything that has to do with evidence that would find Donald Trump Guilty; This is the end of the American system of checks and balances and the integrity of the America system of government. By protecting the president, republican senators in the Senate Are paving the way for American to become and oligarch. Long gone are the days of ” no one being above the law” and “anyone can become president if they work hard” . Because trump has successfully seduced half the country and has seduced the republican side of the United States Senate, he can now do whatever ever he likes, what this means is your rights and the great idea of what America should be , has just died tonight.
Santa Fe, NM—-Attorney General Balderas today joined a coalition of 20 attorneys general in filing a comment letter to protect the rights of asylum-seekers. Under a new interim final rule, the Trump Administration is effectively attempting to ignore asylum claims by sending people, many of whom are fleeing violence and persecution, to third countries that have signed asylum cooperative agreements with the federal government. The rule, which went into immediate effect, will block states from welcoming asylum-seekers who make significant cultural and economic contributions to communities across the country and threatens to tear families apart.
“We have a humanitarian obligation to help and protect families fleeing from violence and political corruption
in other countries, and the Trump administration’s latest attempt to turn its back on these vulnerable people is
un-American and cruel,” said Attorney General Balderas. “We will continue to fight for those without a voice
and to stop these horrific policies.”
Giving asylum-seekers a safe haven from persecution is an essential value of the United States. In contrast, the Trump Administration’s interim final rule harms thousands of already vulnerable individuals by barring them from seeking protection in the United States and forcing them into dangerous circumstances in third countries that are not equipped to handle their claims. Currently, Guatemala is the only country where an asylum cooperative agreement is officially in effect. However, Guatemala has insufficient staff to handle humanitarian claims. There are only 12 officials working on asylum cases in the entire country, and only three of them are tasked with interviewing applicants. The federal government has already announced agreements with Honduras and El Salvador and under the interim final rule this process could apply to those countries and any other country other than Canada that signs an asylum cooperative agreement with the United States. Disturbingly, the rule provides no safeguards against family separation. In fact, it has no requirement that families who arrived together in the United States be removed to the same country, raising the specter of additional trauma that could have significant health consequences for families and children.
Under the rule, asylum-seekers will be subjected to an additional screening to determine if they should be barred from applying for asylum in the United States. During the screening, asylum-seekers must affirmatively state a fear of persecution or torture in another country that has signed an asylum cooperative agreement. However, asylum-seekers will only receive a written notice of this condition and nothing in the new regulation requires the federal government to provide notice in a language the asylum-seeker can actually read and understand. For individuals who are fleeing violence and traveling on foot for thousands of miles, this is an extremely high burden that requires an extensive understanding of U.S. immigration laws and a working knowledge of the conditions of countries they may have never even visited. With limited time to prepare a response and potentially without access to legal counsel, the additional screening risks simply being an empty, discriminatory formality that violates the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution. In the comment letter, the coalition also argues that the rule is arbitrary and capricious and is contrary to the Immigration and Nationality Act.
In submitting the comment letter, Attorney General Balderas is joined by the attorneys general of California,
Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada,
New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and the District of Columbia.

Today Nancy Pelosi commenced the impeachment of President Donald Trump. The impeachment investigation started when Trump made a phone call with The president of Ukraine where he allegedly committed a quid pro quo regarding financial assistance.Trump has been plagued with accusations of fraud ,election fraud, even suit’s regarding sexual impropriety. This is a big win for the Democrats because it shows that a president cannot do what he pleases unchecked in their perspective.

Climate change is a real problem, the earth is dying and when the earth dies we will die. Donald Trump isn’t helping Solve this problem. Climate change is not a political problem it is a bipartisan problem that affects us all. Donald Trump has De -regulated all of our environmental protections and in fact removed us from Participating in all of the anti-global warming venues.

Speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi has Formally announced the Trump impeachment inquiry will begin. This will begin an investigation that will look into trumps abuse of power And to see if he has failed to uphold the oath of office.
Many Democrats are happy that the impeachment process has begun but it is a dangerous risk,if the impeachment process fails Trump will be seen as a martyr and his base may become radicalized. Many sources say that Trump is lying but his followers continue to believe him even though he has made outrageous statements.Further allegations say that Trump asked the president of Ukraine to investigate Biden and Biden’s son which is what caused the impeachment inquiry to begin.

During Donald Trump’s last visit at the Santa Ana Star Center he claimed that New Mexico would be turned red in 2020. In order for New Mexico to be turned into a red state, Republicans would have to convert Albuquerque to red, which will not happen considering the major riots during trumps last visit and its large blue population and Trump would also have to turn Santa Fe and all of the Espanola valley red, which isn’t going to happen. Finally,Las Cruces does have a traditionally conservative NMSU but the city is very blue and progressive and it would be a monumental task to turn it red.It doesn’t hurt to be positive, But as for 2020,New Mexico will be blue.
SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Wednesday announced the New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship, a new program that will, in conjunction with existing state and federal scholarship and grant infrastructure, provide for 100 percent of undergraduate tuition and fees at New Mexico institutions of higher education for eligible in-state resident students.
Speaking at the 2019 New Mexico Higher Education Summit at Central New Mexico Community College, Gov. Lujan Grisham announced plans for the new scholarship program that would impact an estimated 55,000 New Mexico students across the state’s 29 public institutions of higher education for the fall 2020 semester, a population that includes recent high school graduates, students who have earned a high school diploma equivalent such as a GED and returning adult learners.
Designed as a “last-dollar” program, the Opportunity Scholarship would effectively cover any tuition and fees not paid for by federal grants or the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship, which typically leaves an unpaid tuition gap between 25 and 40 percent for college and university students, depending on the student and institution.
The New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship, to be administered by the New Mexico Higher Education Department, would make New Mexico only the second state in the country to provide full tuition coverage to its residents; New York is the other.
The Opportunity Scholarship will also cover tuition and fees at New Mexico’s network of two-year community colleges; New Mexico would become the 21st state to provide full two-year tuition coverage at community colleges. The program’s community college component would provide for both recent high school graduates seeking to attend community college and returning adult learners.
Intended to dramatically expand access to higher education to underserved populations all across New Mexico, the Opportunity Scholarship underscores the governor’s commitment to reinvesting in the full spectrum of education, from early childhood outcomes to career and technical training for New Mexico’s workforce of the future.
In-state residents of New Mexico with a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be eligible with a maintained minimum GPA; students will be able to apply for and access the scholarship after enrolling in a public, post-secondary institution.
“This program is an absolute game-changer for New Mexico,” Gov. Lujan Grisham said. “Higher education in this state, a victim of the recession, has been starved in recent years. We are pivoting to a robust reinvestment in higher learning — specifically and directly in our students. By covering the last dollar of tuition and fees, by making college significantly more accessible to New Mexicans of every income, of every background, of every age, we are putting students first. We are creating meaningful opportunity for all.
“In the short term, we’ll see better enrollment, better student success,” the governor added. “In the long run, we’ll see improved economic growth, improved outcomes for New Mexican workers and families and parents, a better trained and better compensated workforce. In the same way I insist on a transformation of early childhood outcomes in this state, I insist on the greatest higher education environment in the United States, and New Mexico is taking a giant leap forward with this proposal. I look forward to working with the Legislature to build support for this life-changing investment in New Mexico’s future.”
”This is the most exciting day in my 25-year career in New Mexico higher education,” said Higher Education Secretary Kate O’Neill. “That’s because students are the beneficiaries of this incredible proposal. Through this program, with the support of the Legislature, we are making a meaningful investment in our students. We’re broadening opportunity for so many New Mexicans who want to learn, who want to get a head start on a great career, who want to provide for themselves, their families and our communities. I’m thrilled by the governor’s commitment to higher education, and I’m honored to have the chance to work to implement this new scholarship and other important initiatives to transform higher education in New Mexico.”
The Higher Education Department, in coordination with the Public Education Department, will work with school districts and individual public schools all across the state to boost federal aid applications that will help make the Opportunity Scholarship sustainable for every New Mexican student.
The announcement of the New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship follows other forward-thinking policy on higher education spearheaded by Gov. Lujan Grisham and Legislature in the 2019 legislative session, including a four percent raise for college and university staff and faculty that went into effect July 1; and renewed investments in future educators from bilingual and Native backgrounds and the implementation of more than $10 million in new scholarship funds for aspiring New Mexico teachers. In addition, the governor signed into law the creation of Centers of Excellence in biosciences, renewable energy, value-added agriculture and cyber security at four New Mexico institutions of higher education.
Trump came to Rio Rancho last night and his turn out was very small compared to Obama’s, extremely small. When Obama came, 2nd St., in Barelas, was very packed almost to a halt. Maybe it was because Trump chose Rio Rancho a smaller venue, However, reports are that people came from all over the state, even California, still a very small turn out as trump is seeking to turn New Mexico red,He may be a long ways off.

The time has come where we need to lift New Mexico out of poverty, here is my plan:
1- No income tax for New Mexicans under 250k dollars in income.
2. No taxes for New outside businesses for 5 years
3. Oil and gas dividends for all citizens.
4. possible state run solar and oil industry for citizens.
5. Possible higher taxes for out of state land owners that don’t reside in New Mexico.
This plan will put money in the pockets of New Mexicans and Improve the economy of our state.

In a disgusting display of racism and intolerance trump recently told three elected female senators to ” go back where they came from”, a statement commonly made by intolerant Americans who hold racist views.
Because of statements like these trump is emboldening racist and desensitizing the public to his fascist agenda.
Many of the GOP senators have not aired disagreement with Trump over this latest tweet and should have their re-elections questioned.
