Featured Actor: Crockett James Ward

Crockett James Ward is the Director of Theatre for Avix School for the Arts in Rio Rancho, NM, and Community Outreach and Education Coordinator for Evergreen Theatre Collective. Crockett earned his Associate of Arts from Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Wesson, MS), his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Belhaven University (Jackson, MS), and his Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from The University of Southern Mississippi (Hattiesburg, MS). While earning his M.F.A., Crockett began working with professional theatre companies and continued to do so after graduation. He has performed with such companies as The National Theatre for Children, Sterling Renaissance Festival, Hampstead Stage Company, The Orbit Initiative, Southern Arena Theatre, Kansas Renaissance Festival, Connecticut Renaissance Festival, Skip-the-Script Improv Troupe, The Misfit Monkeys Improv Troupe, Red Raven Repertory Theatre, and had a lead role in Cedar Point’s World Premiere of Adventure Island: Forbidden Frontier. 

While travelling the U.S. as an actor, Crockett found opportunities to direct stage combat, intimacy, movement, and dialects, as well as host workshops and masterclasses, at Belhaven University, Northern Virginia Community College, Coffeyville Community College, Labette High School, Mary G. Montgomery High School, Lawrence Free State High School, and The Mississippi Arts Commission. Crockett was also among the inaugural group to be recognized with the certification of the Immersive & Interactive Theatre Performer from Gary Izzo. Other certifications and memberships Crockett is proud of include: Actor-Combatant: Broadsword and Unarmed (Dueling Arts International), Lessac Practitioner (The Lessac Research and Training Institute), Alpha Psi Omega (National Theatre Honor Society), Kappa Sigma Delta (National English Honor Society), The Albuquerque Theatre Guild, The Association of Theatre Movement Educators, Rising Star Stunt Team, and The Association of Theatre in Higher Education.
